Parents of all children are welcome to apply for a place at St Edmund’s Preschool. We understand that all children develop in different ways and development does not happen at the same pace for all children. We strive to provide a fun, stimulating and secure environment where all children can develop and learn in their own style.
We work closely with Derby city council and other agencies and specialists to ensure we can support children who have enhanced needs. We have a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) who leads this process. We follow the graduated response approach – to assess, plan, do and review – whilst working in close partnership with parents and other professionals.
All our educators have experience of supporting children with English as a second language and enjoy the richness this diversity can bring. They also works closely with speech and language professionals, where required, to deliver in session activities for any children referred for language support.
